Dates Set For 2012 Tryouts

2012 tryouts and a pre-tryout event have been scheduled for March 29-31 at the Saints Sports Academy.

A  pre-tryout event will take place on Thursday, March 29, from 6 to 10 pm. There will be a $5 charge for this event.

Tryouts will take place Friday, March 30, from 5 to 9 pm, and Saturday, March 31 from 7 am to 4 pm.

More details will be posted here as they become available.

New Bat Rules for the 2012 Season

MBL and MBT are both going to enforce the new USSSA bat regulations this year.  Please go to the first link, below, to see if your current bat will be able to be used. There is a real good chance if the bat is more than 6 months old that the proper stamp is not on the bat and you will not be able to use it.

The second link is for licensed bat manufacturers. Please be very careful with any bat purchase to make sure it is properly marked. The umpires will be checking all bats before the games.

Farmington Travel Baseball and Crest Exteriors Winter Training

The Farmington Travel Baseball Association is pleased to announce a partnership with its latest Gold level sponsor, Crest Exteriors. This partnership will allow FTBA to provide free off-season training on a limited basis to players who participated on FTBA teams during the 2011 season.  Training will be offered most Saturday mornings from 8:30 – 10:30 at the Crest Exteriors building. These training sessions will be organized and supervised by experienced FTBA coaches. See below for more details about the program.

 
Training for players on 2011 teams 12 years of age and up
Coach Tom Severson and his staff will lead players through a variety of hitting, pitching and fielding stations during the 2 hour clinic each Saturday morning from 8:30 am to 10:30 am. The 12 and up age group has facility space on the following dates: 11/12, 12/3, 12/17, 1/14, 1/28 and 2/25. Space will be limited 8 to 12 participants each week. 
 
Training for players on 2011 teams 11 years of age and under
Coach Garrett Beck and his staff will lead players through a variety of hitting, pitching and fielding stations during the 2 hour clinic each Saturday morning from 8:30 am to 10:30 am. The 11 and under age group has facility space on the following dates: 11/19, 12/10, 1/7, 1/21, 2/4, 2/18. Space will be limited 8 to 12 participants each week. 
 
How to request a spot
Because of the size of the space we are using, FTBA understands it will not be able to accommodate everyone each week. As a result, parents will be required to request placement in a specific training session on a date by date basis. Please email Garrett at garrett.beck@ci.burnsville.mn.us with the following information by noon the Friday one full week before the next scheduled date.
 
1)      Email Subject: Crest Exteriors Training (date interested)
2)      Your sons name
3)      The team your son was on this past summer (i.e. 10 A)
4)      You cell phone number
 
Players that receive a spot will be notified no later than the Monday prior to the Saturday training. We will do our best to rotate the open spots as much as possible to include as many different participants as the space and demand allows for.
